A pioneer in unmanned aircraft, expanding on every front, with an external layer lagging behind the product. Nine months of fractional work to close the gap. The company was later acquired.
A European and US manufacturer of unmanned aircraft systems, building them in the industry’s early days, for civil and defense use alike. The company was expanding on every front: new machinery, EU funding, new contracts, global sales, and a first-of-its-kind product on the way. The engineering was ahead of its time. The communication around it was behind the company – a website grown old, visuals that no longer matched what the firm had become.
Client
Pioneering unmanned-aircraft-systems manufacturer, operating across Europe and the US
Sector
Manufacturing, aerospace, unmanned systems
Services Used
Fractional brand and marketing support, website renewal, design upgrade, photo and video production, sales materials
Challenge
Buyers of advanced technology never evaluate the machine alone. Partners, clients, and anyone else looking closely read the whole company: the product, the materials around it, the images, the way it presents itself. A technical lead means little if the outside layer tells an older story. The task was to bring that layer up to the level of the engineering. Not a rebrand - a strengthening.
Approach
Nine months of fractional work, fully remote; external communication needs no desk in the factory. The website renewal ran as a managed project. The design language was upgraded, photo and video sessions produced, a YouTube presence built out, materials prepared for B2B partners, and pricelists and sales documents shaped together with the sales department. Development and maintenance moved in parallel: the brand kept working while it was being reinforced.
Outcome
Within about a year, the company was acquired. Owners do not announce such plans, and this work was never framed as preparation for a sale. What can be said plainly: when the moment came, the company looked like what it was. A pioneer with every system in place - the product, the engineering, and the face it showed the world, finally speaking the same language.
